A Press Release on what is of extreme interest in Beaufort County's great bastion of education.

Beaufort County Community College's Division of Continuing Education will be offering a two-part class to assist people who desire to become more employable
    It is being produced in cooperation with Washington County JobLink.

    The first part of the class will cover basic computer skills to increase confidence and ability with technology. The second part of the class will make use of these new skills to help participants earn a Career Readiness Certification (CRC). A CRC is a nationally recognized credential that highlights several essential skills sought by employers. Instructor guided preparation and on-line study will assist students in gaining this valuable certification.

    The class begins on September 26, 2011, and meets on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, and ends on November 16. The registration fee is $150 ($120 registration, $30 testing fee). However, this class is offered free of charge to dislocated workers, workers who have been notified of an impending layoff, unemployed people, and others who qualify. The test fee may also be waived if students meet the eligibility requirements.

    The class will be conducted at the Washington County Center for Human Services located at 209 E. Main Street, in Plymouth, NC.

BCCC offers class in intermediate computer skills in Plymouth

    The Division of Continuing Education will offer an Intermediate Computer Skills class that is designed to help computer users become more efficient and comfortable with computer applications. In this class, students with basic computer skills will advance to greater proficiency in Microsoft Office and the use of e-mail, the Internet and various social media. This 24-hour class includes specific activities, and students may ask for individual needs to be addressed.

    The class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, beginning September 27 and ending November 22. There will be no class on October 25. The class will meet at the Washington County Center for Human Services in Plymouth. The registration fee is $65, which can be waived for students 65 years old and older. A technology fee of $5 will also be charged. The instructor is Scott Bradshaw.

Another Couponing Class offered in Plymouth

    Due to its extraordinary popularity throughout the region, the Division of Continuing Education at Beaufort County Community College will offer another couponing seminar from 6 to 9 p.m., on Monday, October 10, in the County Cooperative Extension Building in Plymouth. This workshop teaches students how to use coupons to dramatically reduce the cost of their groceries. Participants will learn money-saving secrets such as using a drug store customer rewards program to get health and beauty items free of charge; finding and organizing coupons; using grocery store sales cycles; and getting paid to shop. The techniques in this workshop could potentially cut your grocery bill by 50 to 80 percent. The instructor for the seminar is Melody Page, host of "Extreme Ways to Save." The registration fee is $20.
