Hypocrisy Alert: NCAE Press Conference On Discrimination Held in front of known-segregationist and former NC Gov Zebulon Vance | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Raleigh, N.C.- The North Carolina Republican Party (NCGOP) today released the following statement after the NCAE held a press conference in support of Roy Cooper's campaign for Governor in front of a statue of a known-segregationist to criticize Governor McCrory:

    "How amazing, the NCAE holds an 'attack Pat' press conference complaining about discrimination in front of known-segregationist and former NC Governor Zebulon Vance. This is the same Democrat segregationist celebrated, until recently, every year at an event held by Roy Cooper's Democrat Party. The Democrats' hypocrisy is stunning." said Dallas Woodhouse, NCGOP Executive Director.

    Woodhouse added, "Under Governor McCrory, unemployment is the lowest in eight years and lower in every single of our 100 counties. North Carolina has created 275,000 jobs, and measured by state GDP, we have the fastest growing economy in the nation."

    Woodhouse further pointed out the NCAE's hypocrisy, "The NCAE is affiliated with the NEA teachers union, but as the latest NEA report makes clear, North Carolina has raised teacher pay more than any other state in the nation since McCrory took office in 2013. Since the national teachers union recognizes this, why does the NCAE keep spreading falsehoods?"
