    GREENVILLE, N.C.     The university and the Uptown district brought the Singh family to Greenville from Wilson, and now they have opened their own storefront on Evans Street.

    "We had been coming to Greenville since 2004, and when my son joined ECU in 2010, the visits became biweekly," said Kunwar Singh. "We loved the Uptown with its shopping and dining, and found it so full of life, attractive, and historical."

    As of last semester his daughter has enrolled at ECU as well. Son Siddhartha and daughter Aieshwarya are both aspiring doctors. Kunwar, a high school teacher, holds advanced degrees himself, with masters in geology and education, and is working on a doctorate.

    The family moved to Greenville last Christmas Eve and opened Beauty Brows and Gifts on May 2. The store offers gift items including jewelry, purses, watches and clothing.

    Kunwar provides palm reading as well as astrological analysis and interpretations based on time, date, and place of birth; while his wife, Kumud, does eyebrow threading and temporary henna tattoos - each with many years of experience.

    Beauty Brows and Gifts is located at 505 S. Evans St., next to 501 Fresh. It is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. For more information call 252.375.3219.
