NCGOP Calls On TV Stations To Re-Broadcast McCrory/Cooper Debate Hurricane Matthew Victims, Others Deserve Opportunity To View | Eastern North Carolina Now

    RALEIGH, NC     Today the North Carolina Republican Party (NCGOP) requested that television stations across North Carolina re-broadcast the McCrory Cooper debate in order to give flood victims, who may have been without power or under water, a chance to compare the candidates in their only statewide debate.

    "Today we encourage North Carolina's TV operators and the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters to further serve the 'public interest, convenience, and necessity,' by re-airing Tuesday night's debate. Many of our fellow North Carolinians were without power across the state, and the McCrory Cooper debate discussed the important issues all citizens need to know about in order to cast an informed vote," said Dallas Woodhouse, Executive Director of the NCGOP.

    Despite Roy Cooper's stated position that North Carolina has been saving too much money for a "rainy day," the "rainy day" fund will now assist with the massive storm cleanup and recovery efforts, without raising taxes. Cooper previously voiced his opinion that North Carolina was saving too much money, and should have been spending it, which would have left the state unprepared for the current crisis.
