Della Murray Stilley Little, 105, of the Stilley Town Community, Blount’s Creek, N.C., went to be with the Lord Nov. 16, 2011, at home of natural causes surrounded by family.

    Della Murray Stilley Little, 105, of the Stilley Town Community, Blount’s Creek, N.C., went to be with the Lord Nov. 16, 2011, at home of natural causes surrounded by family.

    She was born July 5, 1906, in Edward, N.C., the daughter of the late John and Delzora Murray. She was the second oldest of eleven (11) siblings. She attended the Sand Hill School only completing the fifth grade. She was a wonderful example of faith, love, hope and charity. She married Isaac Stilley in 1919, to this union were six children. Isaac preceded her in death. On Jan. 18, 1974, she married Capehart Little, who also preceded her in death.

    Della was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She opened her heart and her home to many children over the years and her smile could light up a room.

    Della was a member of Phenel Chapel M.B. Church where she served as secretary, choir member, and was a mother of the church. She was a member of the Eastern Star and served as president of the E.P.R.M.B. Women Auxiliary.

    Della’s hobbies were cooking, gardening and taking care of her flowers.

     Della is survived by her four children, James Coleman Stilley (Eula) of Blount’s Creek, N.C.; Edison Ray Stilley of Blount’s Creek, N.C.; Verna Dixon of Ernul, N.C., and Henrietta Turner of Blount’s Creek, N.C. Thirty-one (31) grandchildren; fifty-seven (57) great-grandchildren; sixty-six (66) great-great-grandchildren; and one (1) great-great-great-grandchild. One sister, Delzora Spencer, and two sisters-in-law.

    In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husbands; two daughters, Roberta Keys and Ola Minor; nine brothers; one sister; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.

    Funeral services for Della Murray Stilley Little will be held at noon, Friday, Nov. 25, at Phenel Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 190 Stilley Town Road. Bishop Bernard Cox will officiate. Burial at Phenel Chapel church cemetery.

    Visitation will be open to relatives and friends on Nov. 24 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
