Jones Holds Moment of Silence in Memory of 16 Service Members Killed in Plane Crash | Eastern North Carolina Now

    WASHINGTON, DC     Today, Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) joined Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18), Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-4), and fellow colleagues in leading a moment of silence on the House Floor for the U.S. Marines and service members lost in last week's Mississippi plane crash.

    Congressmen Jones and Maloney also read and honored the names of the six Marines and 1 Navy Corpsman based at Camp Lejeune and the Members of the Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 452 (VMGR-452) based at Stewart Air National Guard Base: Staff Sergeant Robert Cox, Staff Sergeant William Kundrat, Sergeant Chad Jenson, Sergeant Talon Leach, Sergeant Joseph Murray, Sergeant Dietrich Schmieman, Petty Officer 2nd Class Ryan Lohrey, Major Caine Goyette, Captain Sean Elliott, Gunnery Sergeant Mark Hopkins, Gunnery Sergeant Brendan Johnson, Staff Sergeant Joshua Snowden, Sergeant Julian Kevianne, Sergeant Owen Lennon, Corporal Daniel Baldassare, and Corporal Collin Schaaff.

    "My heart is heavy with the loss of these brave and courageous Marines and service members," said Congressman Jones. "We will never fully be able to thank them for their selfless service to this country. I will continue to hold the families and loved ones of these Marines and service members in my thoughts and prayers."
