Born: July 12, 1935, Died: October 16, 2018

Jack Zeggert, 83, entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday October 16, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

    What a life....

Married the girl of his dreams, Patricia (Patsy) Zeggert 64 years ago.

Soon after, Jack proudly converted to Catholicism and remained very devout.

Blessed with seven children; Suzette, who they lost in a tragic accident in 1955, after which Jack and Patsy decided that they would have as many children as God wished; John (Kim), Jim (Sharon), Andy (Lisa), Catherine (Rich) Pichura, Peggy (Chris) Alvis and Bill.

Jack is also survived by very special grandchildren John Joseph, Randy, Shawna, Brook (Caleb) Eldridge, Patrick (Jesse), MaryLynn Smith, Matthew and Brad Harris, Richard Pichura, Zach and Hannah; and great grandchildren, Faith, Hope, Grace, Dax, Carter, Carson and Chase.

Jack graduated from Binghamton North High and then spent the next 33 years with IBM as an industrial engineer. Jack was also a volunteer fireman for 10 years and was a charter member of C H.

He built his first home in Vestal where his family lived for the next 19 years before his IBM transfer to Charlotte, NC where Jack and his family settled on the shores of Lake Norman. After retirement from IBM, Jack operated a stained glass business for 8 years before deciding to take off with his bride and travel the roads of the US, Canada and Mexico in an RV for the next 12 years making so many friends and memories along the way.

After Jack's mother in law passed away, he and Patsy decided to settle down in Vestal for the next 12 years transforming an overgrown estate into a beautiful park-like setting complete with 2 ponds, fountains, exquisite gardens and barn built from scratch with his brother in law, and some might say partner in crime, Paul Andreessen.

Next up... a move to North Carolina's east coast to be closer to most of his children.

Jack was an avid fisherman, hunter, woodworker, gardener, deal maker and friend to so many.

Jack will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held Friday October 19th at Mother of Mercy Catholic Church at 112 W 9th St Washington, NC at 1:00.
