Frankie Waters is Politically Tone-deaf | Eastern North Carolina Now

Just how much government can we afford here in Beaufort County?

Just yesterday, October 25, 2018, while campaigning at the polls, I was shown that Frankie Waters is making a political issue out of the fact that I am on record, recently at the WDN political forum, of wishing to revamp Beaufort County school security to a far more effective plan, costing far less money, as evidenced by my short treatise (published in BCN) on replacing the Frankie plan of hiring additional school resource officers at a projected expense of 1 million dollars every fiscal year.

At first blush, I questioned: Why is this guy (Frankie) drawing attention to an issue that signifies who I am at my core - a proven Conservative who will think outside the box? Trust me on this one, as someone who has Rightly supported the vast majority of Hood Richardson's initiatives for 16 years as a commissioner, one would need to think outside the box, and on quite a few occasions to do so.

Does Frankie Waters believe that he will drive away from me the potential vote of the "Just Don't Make Me Crazy Contingency" (those who want all potential problems to just go away, at whatever an expeditious cost incurred)? Well, hey Frankie, I lost that voting block decades ago, especially if there is someone else on the ballot, like Frankie, who will say ANYTHING to win their hearts and minds to gain their fleeting vote.

What Frankie is doing, however, by drawing attention to that recent infamous forum - a political night with a terrible format and a few inane questions - a night where I had the short burst of an opportunity to make a few salient Conservative points. Ostensibly, Frankie is revealing to real Conservatives, and other regular folks of some logical acuity (who may become real Conservatives), that I am back and will stand for what is fiscally prudent, Conservative and Right as a Beaufort County Commissioner.

So, in closing, I reckon I owe a small debt of appreciation to Frankie Waters for his abject tone deafness to the necessity of the political honesty of a few candidates, who just want a chance to represent the honest, logical goodness within others who caringly vote - my constituents ... Hood Richardson's constituents ... your friends and neighbors who really get you rank and file Conservatives - the bravely thinking citizen - the backbone of our Constitutional Republic.

Thank-you Frankie Waters, moreover, and always, thank-you Beaufort County Conservatives that get me, and others like me. You make the difference and will make the difference in saving our county, and our Republic.

In the Bzarro Frankie reality, one need only 'care more than his fellow man' to claim the higher ground to rate the alternate, separate and Orwellian reality, when words only count when he says them, and mean whatever Bizarro Frankie wants them to.

Just today, my wife heard Frankie Waters's radio ad, a treatise of bold explanation, where he pleaded that he was indeed a "True Conservative", and should be taken seriously as such, even though that he found it wise to wastefully spend plenty of your tax dollars on his pet projects. You see, Frankie faced some really tough decisions in governing Beaufort County, and was forced to: conduct business in secret meetings; shutdown and shutout real Conservative Hood Richardson in the bargain; borrow multiple millions of dollars for the sake of more 'wise spending', while raising taxes at record levels for the good of the county and its people.

With a "True Conservative" like Frankie, we can all sleep well at night here in Beaufort County, right?

How much government can you afford?

Just ask "True Conservative" Democrat Frankie Waters, and he surely has all the answers: 'You can afford 4 more years of this wasteful plenty'.
