Another Drug Bust | Eastern North Carolina Now

   On February 28, 2012, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Troy Macon Roeloffs, age 32, of 369 Sams Rd. Chocowinity, Alisha Nicole Lopez, age 23, of 369 Sams Rd. Chocowinity, Major Churchill Lewis Jr., age 35, of 205 Hudnell St. Washington, Lawrence Paul Brooks, age 34, of 4466 Loop Rd. Scranton and Jamie Stewart Daniels, age 36, of 3719 Hwy 33 E Chocowinity. Their arrests stemmed from the Sheriff’s Office receiving a Crime Stoppers complaint of drug activity at Roelofs’ residence. The Drug Unit conducted traffic stops and a search of Roelofs’ residence and as a result seized 23 grams of cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $1,560.00.

    Troy Roelofs and Alisha Lopez were charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Possession With intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Jamie Daniels and Lawrence Brooks were charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Less than ½ Ounce of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Major Lewis Jr. was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Roelofs was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond. Lopez was released under a $15,000 unsecured bond. Brooks, Daniels and Lewis Jr. were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.

On Tuesday, February 6, 2024 Mykal Coleman was arrested and confined to the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $75,000.00 secure bond.
On October 9, 2023, Ashun Anthony, age 24 of Washington, NC was indicted by a Beaufort County Grand Jury for the crime of Death by Distribution in connection with the April 29, 2022 death of 31 year old Quintin Freeman
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a fugitive from justice.
On January 26, 2024, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office along with K-9 Tinnus arrested Desmond Trieke Gorham on multiple drugs and weapons charges.

On August 02, 2023, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 5833 Bonnerton Rd. in Edward, NC. As a result, Deputies seized over 100 grams of the powerful synthetic opioid known as fentanyl.
