The 26th Anniversary Aurora Fossil Festival will be held over Memorial Day Weekend from Friday evening , May 24th to Saturday evening May, 25th 2019!



We would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped make the 2018 festival a success! A special thank you goes out to our guest speakers from the College of Charleston and the New Jersey State Museum!

The Aurora Fossil Festival celebrates the Aurora Fossil Museum (a 501c3 nonprofit organization) and the rich fossil record of the Aurora, NC area. Join us for a family-friendly event steeped in tradition and good 'ol southern charm.

Activities include free fossil digging, fossil displays, paleo lecture series, fossil auction, displays by partner nonprofit organizations, parade, fossil 5K, live entertainment, food & craft vendors, and much, much more!

Immediately following the parade, we will celebrate the 41st Birthday of the Aurora Fossil Museum!
