    Mr. Jimmy Parker Taylor, age 75, a resident of 207 Front Street, Bath, NC died Tuesday May 21, 2019 at his home.

    A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday May 24, 2019 at the home. The service will be officiated by Bishop Jessie Blalock and assisted by Pastor Linda Taylor. The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the home.

    Mr. Taylor was born in Bath on January 29, 1944 son of the late James Mayo Taylor and the late Retha Estelle Boyd Taylor. He was a graduate of Bath High School and served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. On November 13, 1971 he married the former Linda Gray Clark who survives. He began his working career Hvide Shipping and retired as a tugboat engineer and held his Captain's license. Mr. Taylor was a history buff who enjoyed documentaries, horticulture and a love for fish ponds. He was a member of the Genealogy Society and was the co-author, along with Don Carrow, of Past Bygone Anthropologies of Bath. He was featured in the magazine Our State. Mr. Taylor was a member of The Wind of Change Church in Bath.
