February 28, 1923 - May 28, 2019
    Mrs. Vida Lois Jones Everett, age 96, a resident of 472 Monroe's Lane Pinetown died Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the home of her son.

    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 31, 2019 at Free Union Free Will Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Harold Swinson and Rev Tony Parrish. Burial will follow in Yeatesville Cemetery. Kevin Everett, Travis Everett, Mike Bowden, Bradley Hopkins, Curt Smith and Joseph Edwards, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday May 30, 2019 at Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven and other times at the home of her son, Ronnie Everett, 836 Monroe's Lane, Pinetown.

    Mrs. Vida was born in Beaufort County on February 28, 1923 daughter of the late Herbert and Lillie Cartwright Jones. She was a graduate of Pantego High School Ye Old Academy. On September 28, 1943 she married Virgil Monroe Everett who preceded her in death on April 4, 1992. Mrs. Vida dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. She was a member of Free Union Free Will Baptist Church where she was very active as long as her health permitted. At her church she was a choir member, a member of the ladies' auxiliary and loved helping with vacation bible school.

    Survivors include a son: Ronnie Everett and his wife Sandra of Pinetown; four grandchildren: Ken Everett and his wife Tammy of Pinetown, Craig Everett of Pinetown Philip Jackson and his wife Beth of Hanover, VA and Lynn Cayton and her fiancée Bradley of Cove City; nine great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. She was predeceased by a daughter: Lillie Carol Everett; two brothers: Eddie Jones and Elbert Jones; three sisters: Rosa Chaplin, Hila Johnson and June Dunbar and a daughter-in-law: Sandra Garrett Everett.

    The family would like to thank Virginia Ross, Kim Harvey, Kindred Home Health Care and Community Home Care & Hospice for their dedicated care and love while assisting in Mrs. Vida's care.
