April 02, 1930 - June 09, 2019
    Mrs. Goldie Allie Jenkins Roberson, age 89, a resident of 812 N. Grimesland Bridge Road, Washington, passed away Sunday June 9, 2019 at Vidant Medical Center.

    Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday June 12, 2019 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be officiated by Pastor Jerry Waters. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Tony Daniels, Kenneth Daniels, Jeff Woolard, Jeffrey Rouse, Levi Singell and Glenn Harris will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Roberson was born in Beaufort County on April 2, 1930 to the late Ramus and Rosa Hardy Jenkins. On August 25, 1951 she married Jay Roberson who preceded her in death on June 8, 2013. She attended Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Roberson truck farmed with her husband and was known to many as the "Collard Lady".

    Survivors include her son, Dennis Jay Roberson and wife Elizabeth of Washington, three grand-daughters, Lauren Singell and husband Levi of Greenville, Caroline Roberson of Greenville, Logan Roberson and fiancé Jeffrey Rouse of Black Jack, one sister, Lillian Phillips of Blounts Creek and one brother, Otis Whisenant and wife Liz of Chocowinity. She was preceded in death by her grand-daughter, Ashley Denise Roberson, her step father, Hobart Whisenant, four sisters, Katherine Harris, Dorothy Singleton, Murtie Daniels, Hazel Jenkins, and two brothers, Fonzie Whisenant and Jason Whisenant.

    The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Frederick Teixeira, nurse Leanne Godley and the Palliative Care of Vidant Medical Center.

    The family will receive friends Tuesday June 11, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vidant Health Foundation, PO Box 8489, Greenville, NC 27835. A note should be included to specify the Palliative Care Unit.
