    Mr. Frank Bowman "Bo" Lewis, age 82, a resident of 120 Spruce Street, Washington Park, passed away Friday morning, September 27, 2019 at his home, with his family by his side

    A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Monday, September 30, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Washington officiated by Rev. Charles Michael Smith and Rev. Ken Hall. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Lentz Stowe, Russ Askew, Wayne Askew, Riley Lewis, William Hedgepeth, Bill Hedgepeth, Russ Darrow and Blake Lewis, III will serve as pallbearers.

    The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home.

    Bo was born in Beaufort County on January 28, 1937, son of the late Blake Covington Lewis and Dorothy Claire Stowe Lewis. He was a graduate of the 1955 class of Washington High School. On April 15, 1960, he married the former Peggy Joyce White, who survives. Bo loved Washington and Beaufort County and was evident with his involvement in the community. He served 19 years as President and Executive of the Washington/Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce, was Production Manager and Director of WITN TV Channel 7, a member of the Board for Trustees for Beaufort County Community College for 20 years and owned and operated Bowman's Men's Wear for eight years. Bo was a lifetime member of the NC/SC Association of Chamber Directors, a member of Masonic Lodge # 104, member of Sons of Confederate Veterans, past President of the Washington Rotary Club and awarded the Paul Harris Fellow. In 1991, he was named the NC Executive of the Year and in 1996 he was named the East Carolina Chamber of Commerce Executive of the Year. Bo was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Washington

    In addition to his wife, Peggy of the home, he is survived by his daughter: Dede Lewis Hedgepeth and husband Bill of Fayetteville, NC; his son: Bowman Lewis and wife Kelly of Clemmons, NC; his grandchildren: Hannah Hedgepeth, William Hedgepeth, Lauren Lewis and Riley Lewis; his sister: Claire Lewis Darrow of Washington, NC; his nieces and nephews: Blake Covington Lewis, III of Hendersonville, NC, Mary Leigh Lewis of Raleigh, NC, Billy Russ Darrow, Jr., of Atlanta, GA, Dorothy Darrow Konigsmark of Telliride, CO and Caroline Darrow Collie of Washington, NC. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Blake Lewis, Jr.

    Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
