    Patricia "Patti" Woodell Campbell, age 81, died peacefully at her home 176 Shady Banks Beach Road, Washington, NC on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.

    Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Sunday, January 26, 2020 and will be officiated by Rev. Jim Reed. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Her grandsons, Costa Elefheriou, Grayson Hodges, Allen Hodges, Lee Hodges, Jay Campbell and Shane Carter will serve as pallbearers.

    Patti was born to Isaac Allen Woodell and Hazel Janet Adcox Woodell on March 5, 1938 in Southern Pines, NC. On April 9, 1955, she married John T. "Tommy" Campbell, Jr. who preceded her in death on September 7, 2003.

    She is survived by her six children, Janet Eleftheriou (George) of Richmond, VA, Susan Hodges (Gray) of Washington, Jack Campbell (Joan) of Washington, Edward Lee Campbell of Paris, France, James Campbell (Shanna) of Washington, Patrick Campbell (fiancée Tammy) of Washington; seven grandchildren: Elena Talley and Costa Eleftheriou of Richmond, VA, Grayson Hodges and Allen Hodges of Raleigh, NC, Lee Hodges of Columbia, SC, Jay Campbell of Raleigh, and Shane Carter of Washington; three great grandchildren; her sister, Ginger Oates (Keith) of Morehead City, and numerous nieces and nephews.

    In addition to her husband, Patti was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sandy Ruckert and Vicky Woodell; and brother, Isaac Woodell.

    Patti was an active member of the community, the Stratford Book Club, and a dedicated member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church serving in leadership roles including President of the Episcopal Church Women Diocese of East Carolina. She loved all sports especially watching ACC basketball and introduced the game of tennis to many young people.

    The family will receive friends at her home, 176 Shady Banks Beach Road, Washington and also at the cemetery following the service.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church or to the church or charity of the donor's choice.
