Primary Election, 2012: NC House Wounded RINO Catastrophe ... Look for a Runoff | Eastern North Carolina Now

   Mattie Lawson is walking the path of a very deep, and most profound upset. Her story may eventually turn out to be an exemplary chapter in the book of why the folks, here Downeast, "do not cotton" to the prospect that our Republican candidates will be hand picked by a sophistic Republican hierarchy ruling in Raleigh, North Carolina.

   Mattie Lawson's well played roll in this ongoing power play, by the Raleigh "power brokers," is that she narrowly won the Republican primary (37.14% to 36.21% of the vote) over Democrat-turned-Republican Arthur Williams, which will surely necessitate a runoff - and there will be many in North Carolina, so look for a decent turnout. Though Mattie has been massively outspent, and will continue to be outspent, she is the "odds-on" favorite to win the primary runoff.

   Considering the events surrounding this campaign, Mattie Lawson will be in a firm position to receive most of her fellow conservative Candidate, Jeremy Adams's 26.65% vote, and should there be an adequate turnout on the runoff day, she will win. I suspect there will be, come rain or shine. Real Conservatives are wired that way.
