Governor's Office to Host Conference Call for Local Government on Recent COVID-19 Executive Action


    Yesterday, Governor Cooper issued an executive order declaring a state of emergency in response to the growing outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in North Carolina. The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) also shared several statewide recommendations to slow the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the number of people infected. Tomorrow, Governor Cooper's office will host a free conference call to update elected and appointed local government officials on COVID-19.

NCACC Takes Steps to Support State COVID-19 Mitigation Recommendations


NCACC recognizes that each of us plays an important role in reducing the spread of COVID-19. In light of the emerging cluster of cases in the Triangle area, NCACC is taking steps to support NCDHHS mitigation recommendations. To that end, NCACC is modifying upcoming event schedules and those involved will receive individualized communications. School announced yesterday that the so called forums at Chocowinity Middle School tonight (April 29,2025) and S.W. Snowden (Thursday May 1, 2025) have been cancelled pending the managers proposed budget.

The political schedule has suddenly become complicated. This is because the Republican party is deliberately scheduling events to conflict with our schedule.
The Conservative Club meets Wednesday February 26 at 6:00 pm at King Chicken Restaurant.
Karen Brinson Bell, executive director of the NC State Board of Elections, recently was elected incoming president of the National Association of State Election Directors (NASED), putting her in line to serve as association president in 2026.
