Michael Shellenberger has worked for the UN's IPCC and for Obama administration climate initiatives, and he has been an environmental activist since the age of 17. He was named one of Time magazine's "Heroes of the Environment" and won the 2008 Green Book Award.

But now, he has issued an apology for "crying wolf" on the climate alarmism scare and written a book about it.

"On behalf of environmentalists everywhere, I would like to formally apologize for the climate scare we created over the last 30 years. Climate change is happening. It's just not the end of the world. It's not even our most serious environmental problem." Shellenberger wrote. "I am as guilty of alarmism as any other environmentalist. For years, I referred to climate change as an "existential" threat to human civilization, and called it a "crisis."

It is good when alarmists come to their senses.
