The Trump campaign continues to thump Joe Biden and the Democrats in overall campaign cash, having a great and record-setting month of June, it was reported Thursday.

The reelection campaign, the Republican National Committee (RNC) and joint fundraising announced an excellent quarter in which they pulled in more than $266 million, of which $131 million came in the month of June alone.

The $131 million raised in June "eclipses the total raised in any single month of 2016," according to a press release from the campaign. Biden also had a good month, but is still quite far behind the president and the Republicans in overall operational funds.

The second-quarter GOP total is $111 million more than the first quarter of 2020, marking a "71 percent increase," the campaign said. The Trump campaign, RNC and joint efforts took in an average of $4.3 million per day in the month of June, driven by a record-setting single-day figure of $14 million on Trump's birthday, June 14. The joint Trump reelection effort has raised more than $947 million in the past two years and has over $295 million cash on hand. Many across the spectrum reported on the good news.

Trump Campaign Manager Brad Parscale said, "The Trump campaign's monumental June fundraising haul proves that people are voting with their wallets and that enthusiasm behind President Trump's reelection is only growing. No one is excited about Joe Biden, which is why he has to rely so heavily on surrogates like Barack Obama and radical Hollywood elites. In stark contrast, President Trump is tapping into support from real Americans all across the country who have reaped the benefits of his America First agenda."

GOP chief Ronna McDaniel said, "After yet another haul of record-breaking support, the voters are speaking loud and clear-they support President Trump. As Joe Biden remains hidden in his basement, President Trump is leading this country to a Great American Comeback that will reignite our economy, restore law and order, and usher in a new era of strength."

The RNC also announced the hiring of 300 more field staffers, bringing the total "Trump Victory Operation" in key states to more than 1,100, which is nearly double that of the Biden campaign. This will be key for November as the election, much like the 2004 presidential election, could come down to tens of thousands of votes in vital counties in battleground states. In 2004, less than 50,000 votes in Ohio decided the presidential race, not to mention the 2000 presidential election debacle in Florida.

Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, New Mexico, Nevada, Minnesota, and New Hampshire, while leaning red or blue, are all up for grabs for both parties. In their results will hinge the outcome of the election and the fate of the nation. That's why the increased ground staff for Trump means so much. By targeting certain counties for special get-out-the-vote attention from staff, those counties can swing entire states.
