Royal Cousin Says Ghislaine Maxwell Was Epstein’s ‘Faithful Lapdog’ and Wanted to Marry Him | Eastern North Carolina Now

Christina Oxenberg, a cousin of the British royal family, is speaking out this week to reveal how happy she is about the arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell, the alleged madam of the late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

"Better late than never," Oxenberg told Fox News.

"It's good she is arrested. Whatever she gets is what she deserves if justice prevails."

Maxwell was arrested last Thursday by the FBI and hit with charges related to her grooming young girls, one as young as 14, for sex.

She is also accused in the indictment of facilitating the crimes of Epstein, with whom she lived and traveled for years, and also even of sometimes joining in the sexual abuse herself.

Oxenberg was adamant that there is one thing the media has gotten wrong about Maxwell, a former British socialite.

"Jeffrey Epstein was not her boyfriend," Oxenberg said.

"He was her boss. She wanted to marry him but he was humoring her for being a faithful lapdog."

Oxenberg is a renowned writer who is the daughter of Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia, the second cousin of Prince Andrew.

She said she met Epstein at a dinner party held at the home of businessman Leslie Wexner, and at the time, he did not yet know Maxwell.

It was Maxwell who introduced Andrew to Epstein in 1999, and the royal is last known to have met with her at Buckingham Palace last year, two weeks after American prosecutors announced plans to reopen the investigation into the billionaire.

Andrew has been accused of having sex with one of Epstein's accusers, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, including when she was an underage 17 year-old. He has expressly denied these claims.

Oxenberg believes all eyes should be on Maxwell for the time being.

"The focus should be, and now rightly us, on Ghislaine Maxwell as the mastermind of the operation of recruiting sex partners for Jeffrey Epstein," she said.

This comes months after Oxenberg talked about just how crucial it was for the FBI to find Maxwell.

"Epstein had a goal, which was he wanted to meet Andrew," she said back in January. "He got his goal through [his gal pal] Ghislaine [Maxwell]. It was easy to set up... But Andrew didn't know he was being used. Jeffrey was a pervert. Ghislaine was an enabler of a pervert. So they are the problem and I want the focus to be on Ghislaine. The only thing the FBI needs to know from Andrew is how do we find Ghislaine? That's all you need from him. What can he say? 'I'm sorry I was an idiot.' How many times do you want him to say that? We get it."

"He did idiotic things," Oxenberg continued, referring to Andrew.

"But he's not a pedophile. He's not a sex ring organizer. I'm sure he's filled with regret and remorse. He loves his family. He's duty-bound. He loves his mother and doesn't want to bring her grief."

She then doubled down on her defense of Andrew, saying that he was just ignorant of what he was doing.

"Andrew didn't understand, and it's not his fault, but he was targeted specifically by Epstein and Maxwell," she said.

"Andrew thought they were friends... He was targeted by Ghislaine and I know that. I just happen to know that for a fact."

"Andrew is not a mastermind sex trafficking ring organizer," Oxenberg continued.

"Forgive me, my sweet cousin Andrew, but the dude couldn't organize a dinner party, let alone a sex trafficking ring... Epstein had a fixation with Andrew for years before he met him - that was a known thing. He wanted to meet Andrew. Ghislaine was eager to make this goal a reality for him... Epstein was a glutton pervert, but somebody was willing to feed his perversion — that was Ghislaine."

Oxenberg also stressed that while Maxwell wanted to marry Epstein, it was never actually going to happen.

"That's what she told me," Oxenberg claimed.

"That was her goal. She said, 'I'm making myself indispensable to him. I'm giving him whatever he wants and I want him to marry me. This is how I'm getting there.'"

She concluded by saying her heart goes out to all the victims.

"The women - my heart goes out to them," said Oxenberg. "[They] were abused. That's incontrovertible... [And] many people were fooled over the years... You just cannot believe real evil exists right in your face."
