Cunningham Holds Fundraiser With Extreme Liberal Podcast Host | Eastern North Carolina Now

    RALEIGH, NC     In light of Cal Cunningham's fundraiser with former Obama flack and extreme liberal media host, Dan Pfeiffer, tonight, here's a look back at what Cunningham was doing when COVID-19 first hit North Carolina.

    While Senator Tillis sprung into action to combat the COVID-19 in the early stages of the pandemic, Cunningham was taking a cross-country flight to participate in an interview with Dan Pfieffer's liberal podcast, "Pod Save America," where he didn't mention the virus a single time. Six days after the first COVID-19 case in North Carolina, Cunningham finally released a public statement about the virus.

    "By the time Cunningham finally addressed COVID-19, Senator Tillis had already helped secure millions of dollars for North Carolina's emergency preparedness and was working to increase testing supplies," said NCGOP spokesman Tim Wigginton. "Cunningham's fundraiser with Dan Pfieffer today serves as a reminder that, when the pandemic began, he prioritized himself and his extreme liberal allies over the needs of North Carolinians, which is exactly what he would do in the Senate."
