William Morrow Zachman of Bath, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, November 25th at his home.

    William Morrow Zachman of Bath, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, November 25th at his home. He was married to the former Anna Katherine Raynor of Greenville, North Carolina for 56 years. He is the son of the late Arthur Solomon Zachman and Margaret Eliza Morrow Zachman, born in Chicago, IL on April 17, 1941. They have 3 children: Alyson Zachman Robey of Mason, OH, William Morrow Zachman, Jr. (Catherine K. Zachman) of Montclair, VA and Katherine Zachman Martin (Richard J.A. Martin) of Raleigh, NC. He leaves behind eleven grand children and three great grandchildren. He is the brother of John A. Zachman of Bakersfield, CA and the late Jane Zachman Vaughn. Bill was excited about the upcoming birth of his fourth great grandchild.

    He met Katherine, the love of his life, in 1964 while serving as an Ensign in the United States Navy on board the USS Barton. Days before his death, he published their love story and final marriage teaching in his book, The Greatest Mystery, Lost in a Garden, a Celebration of Marriage.

    Bill was a graduate of Northwestern University and completed post graduate studies in accounting at East Carolina University. He was a practicing CPA in Washington, NC for over forty years, retiring from Seiler, Zachman and Associates in 2008 when he transitioned to a consulting practice in Bath, NC.

    He served as chairman of the Historic Bath Commission, a member of the Committee of 100 Board of Directors, Chairman of the Washington Chamber of Commerce, Director of Beaufort County Community College Foundation and a member of the Vidant Beaufort Hospital Board.

    Bill served as an elder at Harvest Church where he and his wife, Katherine, led a teaching ministry focused on marriage and family relationships.

    A celebration of life service will be held Sunday November 29, 2020 at 1:30 at Harvest Church in Washington, NC. Due to the elevated risk of COVID exposure among family members the grave side service will be limited to the family. As the family will not be able to receive guests leading up to or following the service, please send your condolences to P.O. Box 233, Bath, NC 27808. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory can be made to Harvest Church or a charitable organization of your choice that focuses on testifying that Jesus Christ is Lord.
