October 3, 1931 – March 9, 2021

Allie Sutton Saburn, 89, of Washington, passed away on March 9, 2021. Allie lived in Washington, NC over 30 years.

She was born on October 3, 1931 to the late Lee H. Jones and Annis (Forrest) Jones in Greene County, NC.

Allie lived in Washington, NC over 30 years. She loved her church and reading her bible. Allie also loved to watch animal shows, shopping and eating out. The Washington Waterfront was one of her favorites. The past year was rough for everyone with the COVID virus, she didn't get out much and couldn't see her family & grandkids. Her daughter kept her up to date with pictures and in November 2020 they moved her out of St Johns Housing where she lived over 20 years and into her new home at Autumnfield in Belhaven, NC where mom was very popular. Allie loved everyone there and they loved her. Mom always had a wit about herself. She looked forward to going back to Autumnfield when she got out of the hospital but God had other plans. We love and miss you mom.

Allie is survived by her daughter, Clara L (Bernard "Chip" Whittington) Meadows of Bath, NC; two sons, Donald Lee (Valerie Sutton) Sutton of Smithfield, VA, Luther "Luke" (Missy Sutton) Sutton of Chesapeake, VA; six grandsons, Luke Sutton, Mark Sutton, Jr., Matthew Sutton, Ray Sutton, Nicholas Sutton, Richard Ward; three granddaughters, Melissa Miles, Heather Price, Brittany Sutton: five great-grandsons: Wyatt Price, Heath Price, Mason Sutton, Myles T. Sutton, Braxton Miles, three great-granddaughters, Tristan Eley, Alexis Sutton and Gatlin Miles, two great-great grandsons: Owen Price and Liam Eley

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 17 years, L.J. Sutton, two sons; Mark Gray Sutton and Lewis Ray Sutton, one grandson, Shawn Sutton, one sister, Annie Earl Jones-Smith, seven brothers; Hubert Jones, Fred "Tom" Jones, Jimmy Jones, Clarence Allen Jones, Harvey Lee Jones, Johnnie Ray Jones and Leslie Glen Jones.

A special thanks to her Medicaid workers of 20 years, Laura Weston and her sister Felecia Weston.

A celebration of life service will be held 3:00 pm, Monday, March 15, 2021 at Joseph B. Paul, Jr. & Washington Funeral & Cremation. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until the funeral hour. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
