Press Release:

Popular Majority Leader of the North Carolina House of Representatives, Paul "Skip" Stam, will be making an early morning appearance at the Plantation House Restaurant in Washington, NC, Friday September 7th, 2012. Skip is in town to promote NC House District 6 Republican Nominee Mattie Lawson. Mattie, small business owner and active volunteer, is in the race for NC House for District 6 as a first time run for office. District 6 includes all of Dare, Hyde and Washington Counties and the northern portion of Beaufort County, north of the Pamlico River and portions of Chocowinity and Cypress Landing. Mattie won the Republican Primary Election in May and overwhelmingly won the Second Primary Election in July. She is a solid grassroots pro-gun rights and anti-big government candidate running for the right reasons: to make the state a better place for her grandkids. Her systems engineering background and business experience will serve the District well in 2013.

Skip has a reputation as a strong conservative leader well-liked by voters and fellow legislators. He is personable and approachable. He readily welcomes participation when he is available to meet and greet citizens across the state. Skip's webpage is http://www.ncleg.net/gascripts/members/viewMember.pl?sChamber=H&nUserID=309. At that site viewers can access the bills Skip has sponsored and other information about Skip as well as navigate to learn about other North Carolina legislators and legislation.

Residents are welcome to come to the Plantation House Restaurant at 2289 W. 5th Street Suite 600 (US-264) in Washington, NC, Friday, September 7th, 2012 from 8:00 am - 9:30 am to meet with Skip and Mattie. This is not a fundraiser (though donations won't be turned away) so come prepared to purchase your own food and drink, if you wish, and get to know Skip and Mattie.
