Tesla's lithium battery ignites, destroys car and house

ENCNow

Biden tells people they should buy electric cars instead of worrying about gas prices.  That is like Marie Antoinette saying "let them eat cake".  Electric cars are not only enormously expensive but they are rolling firebombs due to the tendency of their large lithium batteries to spontaneously combust.

The latest example comes from Upper Dublin, Pennsylvania, where a Tesla parked in a driveway caught fire, burning up the car and burning down the house it was parked outside.  The house is regarded as a total loss.  Lithium burns very hot and is nearly impossible to extinguish.

Another Tesla in a nearby Pennsylvania town spontaneously combusted a few months ago while its owner was driving it down the road.

GM recently recalled every Chevy Bolt they had built due to the propensity of their large lithium batteries to spontaneously combust.  They recommended anyone who decided to keep the cars park them at least 50 feet from any building or other vehicle.

Every time you get on an airplane, one security question you are asked is whether you are carrying any lithium batteries.  If so, they have to be discarded.  The reason is simple. Some years ago, a passenger jet was carrying a shipment of small lithium batteries as cargo and they spontaneously combusted while the plane was flying over the Everglades, causing it to crash, killing everyone on board.  What thinking person wants a much much larger version of these batteries parked in their garage or beside their house?  Oh, Biden might, but this is about a thinking person.
