News Release:

    Good morning,

As Senate Democrats continue their crusade against the legislative process, Senate hopeful Cheri Beasley is falling in lock-step with Chuck Schumer to radically change the Senate's rules.

After months of dodging questions, Democrat Senate Candidate Cheri Beasley admitted in October that she wants to eliminate the filibuster. In August, Beasley was asked if she would consider eliminating the filibuster and she refused to answer, even though she previously said that it is something that she would "take a look at." Her back and forth on the issue is unsurprising, given her hesitancy to take a position on just about anything, but Beasley's spokesperson can't try to clarify Beasley out of this particular stance: Beasley wants to eliminate the filibuster.

"Cheri Beasley has caved to the radical Left and will do anything - including nuking the filibuster - to win the favor and funding of Democrats like Chuck Schumer. Their out-of-touch agenda has no place in North Carolina, where voters will continue to reject their efforts to ram through policies that will only hurt workers and families." - RNC Spokeswoman Alex Nolley

In the words of Beasley's very-own role model, ending the filibuster would "be a doomsday for Democracy." Yet, Beasley is marching in line with the Democrats' efforts to change the rules and force a federal election takeover that would eviscerate widely-popular provisions like voter ID. Their attack on the filibuster is only about one thing: power.
