Hendersonville - North Carolina Sen. Chuck Edwards, Republican candidate for the 14th Congressional District, announced today that the following state legislators have endorsed his campaign:

  • Sen. Kevin Corbin (Macon County)
  • Rep. Karl Gillespie (Macon County)
  • Rep. Mark Pless (Haywood County)
  • Rep. Mike Clampitt (Swain County)
  • Rep. Jake Johnson (Polk County)
  • Former Rep. Chuck McGrady (Henderson County)
  • Former Rep. Michele Presnell (Yancey County)
  • Former Sen. Jim Davis (Macon County)

"I'm humbled by the support our campaign is receiving from my colleagues in the North Carolina legislature," Edwards said. "They have partnered with me to stand-up to the far left on taxes, spending, election integrity, public safety, immigration, and various other issues. They know that I'll do the same thing in Washington."

The endorsements represent a vast majority of the legislative delegation in the 14th District, demonstrating Edwards' organizational strength ahead of the May primary. State legislators carry with them a network of grassroots and financial supporters that can be mobilized in primary contests.

"Our campaign continues to build momentum," Edwards said. "I look forward to working with these men and women to take the fight to the radical left in DC, just as we've done in Raleigh."
