Beauty Pageant Winner And Conservative Activist Dies After ‘Accident’; No Official Explanation Given | Eastern North Carolina Now

    On Friday, a deeply religious Christian beauty pageant winner who also served as a conservative political commentator died of head injuries, and neither her family or the Miami police has specified what caused the injuries.

    Zoe Sozo Bethel, 27, was crowned Miss Alabama in the 2021 Miss for America Strong beauty pageant; she offered political commentary on RBSN, and worked for Students for Life and connected to Project Veritas. Her family wrote on Instagram:

    On Friday, February 18, 2022, at approximately 5:30AM Eastern time in Miami, Florida, our beloved Zoe Sozo Bethel passed from this life into the next as a result of succumbing to her injuries.

    Zoe touched the hearts of many people and was actively affiliated with several organizations and groups namely, she was the current Miss Alabama (for America Strong), a political commentator for RSBN, a Brand Ambassador for Turning Point USA, and Liberty University's Falkirk Center. She was also a spokeswoman for Students for Life and affiliated with Project Veritas.

    Bethel was a staunch opponent of abortion; when the Supreme Court was considering arguments over a Mississippi law limiting abortion to the first 15 weeks of pregnancy, she posted on Instagram:

    Today we are praying for VICTORY for those without a voice in overturning Roe vs Wade. The fight for life continues as the Dobbs vs Jasckson Women's Health case is being heard in DC at the supreme court.

    Earlier last month I had to opportunity to share my testimony when I decided to choose life over terminating the innocent life God blessed me with (My daughter). No matter how bad the situation may be, choosing LIFE is always the right choice.

    "He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour."

    Last week, Bethel's family wrote on Instagram:

    Hello everyone,

    This message comes from the family of Zoe Bethel. Zoe had an accident Thursday night, February 10th, & sustained severe damage to her brain/brainstem & is in a coma. Unfortunately the doctors are saying the damage cannot be repaired & that she may not have much time left.

    We are praying for God's will to be done, regardless of what that may look like.

    This has been an abrupt & very traumatizing situation for our family, & we can imagine how much of a shock this will also be to everyone who knows & cares for her.

    We ask that everyone please respect the privacy of our family during this time. Keep Zoe & the family in your prayers!

    After the announcement of her death, Turning Point USA tweeted, "We are honored to have known Zoe Bethel. She has been a pillar in the Conservative movement, always moving with grace and wisdom. She has inspired many, and her legacy will continue to touch the hearts of people everywhere. You will not be forgotten, Zoe. May she Rest In Peace."
