A poll by the respected Conservative Party website Conservative Home after the first of two televised debates between the five contenders still in the race for leadership of the Conservative Party gives small "c" Conservative Kemi Badenoch, a black conservative woman who is an immigrant from Nigeria, a double digit lead among grassroots activists.  The eventual winner of party leadership will become Boris Johnson's successor as Prime Minister.

Badenoch gained fame as Minister of Equalities for her hard line against Critical Race Theory and Black Lives Matter.  She calls for reducing the size of government, cutting taxes, and dumping Boris Johnson's green agenda which she has denounced as "unilateral economic disarmament".  She also calls for more stringent action against illegal immigration.

An earlier poll by the UK's largest circulation broadsheet newspaper, the Daily Telegraph, which supports the Conservative Party, had earlier given Badenoch a lead among Conservative voters.  The poll by Conservative Home, however is even more significant since it represents party activists.

There will be another televised debate Sunday, then three more votes by Conservative members of Parliament to reduce the number of contenders to two.  The final vote will be a postal ballot open to the 180,000 dues paid members of the Conservative Party.

For Badenock to get to the mail-in vote by Conservative Party members, she first has to be one of the top two among Conservative members of parliament. Right now, the Daily Mail, a generally conservative leaning newspaper, Rishi Sunak, an ethnic Indian who is very wealthy and a former Chancellor of the Exchequer is leading among MP's with Badenoch one of three contending for second. Polls show that middle class and working class Brits have a hard time relating to Sunak because of his wealth, and conservatives should beware of him because he has the strongest ties to the WEF, as well as being backed by the Chinese. Sunak is attacking another of the contenders, Liz Truss over her history as a Remainer, while Sunak backed Brexit. Another contender, Penny Mordaunt is losing traction due to remarks she made supporting transgenderism in the past which are now being used against her. Here is the latest from the Daily Mail: www.dailymail.co.uk

Boris Johnson was a globalist, likely through the influence of his wife. Hopefully, the new prime minister will not be. Sunak would likely be another Boris.
