Press Release:

Hendersonville     Former US Rep. Charles Taylor, one of the longest-serving Congressmen in Western North Carolina history, today announced his endorsement of State Senator Chuck Edwards. Edwards is the Republican nominee for Congress in North Carolina's 11th District, most of which Taylor once represented in Congress.

"I'm endorsing Chuck Edwards because of his stellar conservative record for 6 years in the State Senate," Taylor said. "He's a successful businessman and he's proven to be a work horse for his district. He will build a team dedicated to serving the people of Western North Carolina and helping to create regional and national improvements for our district."

Taylor, who served in Congress for 16 years, said his endorsement will accompany a fundraiser he is hosting for Edwards on September 22, 2022.

"I'm humbled to have the support of Congressman Taylor, who did so much to advance our region during his time in Congress," Edwards said. "He never allowed Washington to erode his dedication to our mountains, and I won't either. I look forward to working with him to win this race in November and using him as a resource in serving our constituents in the future."
