You Can't Teach This | Eastern North Carolina Now | Wiley Nickel continues to put our kids last.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Wiley Nickel continues to put our kids last.

Democrat policies like his led to school closures and declining performance in the classroom. In the last two years, average scale scores for American nine year old's dropped by five points in reading and seven points in math - resulting in the largest decline in reading scores since 1990.

Wiley Nickel and his fellow Democrats have stripped educators of the funding, resources and overall transparency needed provide our kids with the best education. This is something you can't teach...

Let's take a look at a few times his voting record impacted North Carolina school systems:

  • H.B. 231, a bill that would have provided salary increases to teachers.
  • H.B. 377, a bill that would have increased teacher pay based on years on experience and would also provide salary supplements for new teachers.
  • S.B. 354, a bill that would have ensured that teachers who received bonuses in the 2018-19 school year would also receive bonuses in January of 2020, in addition to salary increases for teachers who have certain certifications.

"Wiley Nickel has clear intentions to put children last. He cannot be trusted." - RNC Spokeswoman Taylor Mazock
