Beasley Luvs to Rub-A-Dub-Dub Corporate PAC Money | Eastern North Carolina Now | Another day, another deception from Cheri Beasley. Beasley keeps saying she doesn’t take corporate PAC money

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Press Release:

Another day, another deception from Cheri Beasley. Beasley keeps saying she doesn't take corporate PAC money (click here for really clever video clip of Beasley saying it over and over and over), but Cheri Beasley's campaign coffers are lined with cash from corporate PACs. Beasley takes a play from the Cal Cunningham playbook (no, not THAT play) that was so deceitful, even WRAL said Cunningham's claims were "Mostly False." Guess who does the exact same thing? That's right, Cheri Beasley is raking in the corporate PAC money just like Cal Cunningham did.

Here's the Cunningham/Beasley playbook on corporate PAC hypocrisy:

Step One: Democrat Candidates, like Cheri Beasley, go out and bemoan corporate PAC money and pledge to not take any.

Step Two: Democrat incumbents with Leadership PACs rake in lots and lots of corporate PAC money.

Step Three: These same Dem Leadership PACs turn around and cut a "clean" leadership PAC check to candidates like Beasley.

It's pretty much a textbook example of how to "launder" money. (Heck, it's the sort of tactic a criminal defense lawyer might learn about from clients!)

If that blatant hypocrisy were not enough, Cheri Beasley is also backed by Senate Majority PAC (the Chuck Schumer Super PAC), which from a quick google search reveals Honeywell International PAC donated $100k in January 2022.

This begs the question, does Cheri Beasley really believe corporate PAC money is bad, or is it only bad if it's a corporate PAC supporting a Republican?

Let's not forget that she's also taken a bunch of money from corporate executives and corporate lobbyists -including a lobbyist that represents the evil Big PhRMA (gasp!).

*We're happy to provide receipts if there are any reporters who want to call her out on this.*

Hmm...It's almost...ALMOST as if this is just an empty talking point that means nothing to Cheri Beasley, just like it meant nothing to Casanova Cal.
