Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
News Release:

Washington, D.C.     Cheri Beasley's judicial career shows that she consistently puts the interests of criminals over the interests of their victims. The list of examples is endless but here are a few of her most shocking rulings:

  • Vacated the death sentence of a murderer who shot a boy in the face.
  • Threw out the indictment of a man convicted of sexual assault on a seven-year-old girl.
  • Tossed the conviction of a man seeking sex with a boy online.
  • Threw out the indictment of the predator who sexually assaulted a seven-year-old girl.
  • Voted to set free a man convicted of 12 counts of child pornography.
  • Vacated the death sentence of a teen murderer.
  • Reversed the conviction of an armed kidnapper.
  • Released a double murderer early.

Statement from NRSC Chairman Rick Scott: "Cheri Beasley's judicial and legal record is a laundry list of defending criminals over victims. Time and time again Judge Beasley sided with dangerous criminals and predators. At a time when crime is skyrocketing across the country, the last thing we need is Cheri Beasley in the U.S. Senate."
