Nigel Farage meets with disgruntled Tories as he plots comeback | Eastern NC Now

populist conservative Farage is hero of Brexit

Brexit hero Nigel Farage, who left politics to serve as a host on TV network GB News, where he has achieved quite a following, is testing the waters for a return to politics.  He has expressed great concern with the direction that the new globalist leadership of the Conservative Party (Tories) under Rishi Sunak is taking the UK.  After the success of the Brexit referendum, the Brexit Party was renamed the Reform Party and has been rising in the polls lately.

Farage has recently been meeting with disgruntled Conservative members of parliament from "Red Wall" districts, working class districts that had been safe Labour seats for decades but strongly supported Brexit and as a result elected Conservative members of parliament in the last election.  He is said to be talking to them about running under the Reform Party in the next election.

A recent poll by the UK's largest circulation broadsheet newspaper, the Daily Telegraph of London found that a new party led by Farage would immediately become the largest party on the right, eclipsing the Conservatives.  The Daily Telegraph has long editorially supported the Conservative Party.

Twice, Farage has led parties of the populist right to victory over the Tories, winning the largest percentage of the vote and number of seats among all parties.  Both were in the last two UK elections for the EU parliament, once by the United Kingdom Independence Party, and later by the Brexit Party.  In both subsequent national elections, he had forced the Conservatives into a stronger pro-Brexit position and so had his party stand down to not split the pro-Brexit vote.

Farage and the Reform Party have pushed strongly on opposing illegal immigration and green energy.  The Reform Party calls Boris Johnson's "Net Zero" push on CO2 "net stupid".
