The Beaufort County Board of County Commissioners Will Meet to Discuss the County's Business
The Government of Beaufort County meets every month for at least one general meeting to discuss and act on the county's business. Beaufort County employs the county manager form of government which stipulates that the board of county commissioners allow the county manager to set the agenda, and bring issues before them.
The Beaufort County Board of County Commissioners will meet to discuss a variety of issues in their general meeting on Monday, February 4, 2013. This is the eight general meeting post-budget, when the Beaufort County Commissioners, by a vote of 5 to 2, elected to make no serious cuts of the budget and borrow even deeper from the county's fund balance; however, there has been a change in the make-up of this board by virtue of election. We shall have to see if there is some discernible change in the political machinations of this new board of county commissioners.
This general meeting is the first general meeting since the historic
special called meeting of January 18, 2013, when the Beaufort County Commissioners elected to meet and voted unanimously to support the 2nd Amendment of the Bill of Rights, as it was written, and that the Beaufort County government, and the North Carolina government resist all efforts by the Federal government to usurp the guarantees of that amendment to the United States Bill of Rights, within the United States Constitution.
