UPDATE: The Granville County Republican Party has now joined the Graham County GOP in censuring Thom Tillis (and they added Burr as well) over his vote for homosexual marriage and support for amnesty for illegal aliens. Censuring Tillis is on the agenda for the next meeting of the Lee County Republican Party. The issue was ready to go at the State Republican Executive Committee meeting this weekend in Charlotte, but due to the closeness of Christmas, attendance fell 6 votes short of a quorum to transact any business. The resolution of censorship is said to have been circulated among those in attendance and was well received.

The censuring of RINO Senator Thom Tillis by Republican County organizations has begun with the Graham County Republican Executive Committee being the first out of the gun to pass a resolution censuring Tillis for his liberal votes which are out of step with the state and national Republican platforms. The Lee County GOP is one which has also put a censure of Tillis on its next meeting agenda.
The state Republican Executive Committee meets on December 17 in Charlotte, and the immediate past Republian National Committeeman from North Carolina, State Representative Mark Brody (R-Union) has publicly called for action against Tillis.
Tillis has recently voted for and promoted homosexual marriage legislation that did not even have any meaningful protection for religious liberty. Tillis has also proposed and promoted mass amnesty and a pathway to citizenship for 2 million illegal aliens. Tillis' moves are hurting the Republican brand in North Carolina and damaging the party with its base.
NC's Republican Congressional delegation all voted against the homosexual marriage bill in the House, including our Senator-elect, Congressman Ted Budd. The amnesty bill has not yet come up for a vote in either House or Senate.

I am in Pitt County, so unlikely to get censure or anything that claps.

Jim Womack, of Lee County, is putting together a Lee County Wide Censor for Senator Thom.
And by the way, when I informed Jim of the Center-Left Coalition here in Beaufort County for lo these many years: What would you think is opinion to be? Trust me on this one: In the last four years, all the comments that I offered regarding Beaufort County's foundering GOP are ... wait for it ... correct in the minds and hearts of Real Republicans. |

This needs to happen everywhere. Tillis is extremely bad news. He is little more than a Democrat in Drag. Beaufort County and all eastern county GOP organizations ought to join in to send a message on this traitor Tillis.
