Hammer-wielding attacker David DePape apparently had a much longer "hit list" of people he wanted to confront after he was caught in the act at the home of Paul Pelosi, husband of outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

According to San Francisco Police Sgt. Carla Hurley - who interviewed DePape after he was detained - the list included the House Speaker, Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA), actor Tom Hanks, and Hunter Biden, the embattled son of President Joe Biden.

Anchor Gayle King discussed the revelation with reporter Scott McFarlane on Thursday's broadcast of "CBS Mornings," saying, "This was very scary to hear the ... more details that we heard yesterday."

McFarlane explained that DePape, during his interview with law enforcement, had said he believed there was "evil" in Washington, D.C., and that he had traced it all the way back to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

"There is evil in Washington, what they did went so far beyond the campaign. It originates with Hillary (Clinton) ... Honestly, day in day out, they are lying. They go from one crime to another crime to another crime," DePape said, according to Detective Hurley's testimony.

Body-cam footage of the confrontation with police - both during and immediately after the attack on Pelosi - was also played in the courtroom, giving a more comprehensive picture of DePape's frame of mind at the scene.

"I'm sick of the insane f***ing level of lies coming out of Washington, D.C. I came here to have a little chat with his wife. I didn't really want to hurt him, but you know this was a suicide mission. I'm not going to stand here and do nothing even if it cost me my life," DePape said to the first responders, according to reports.

DePape's son with Oxane "Gypsy" Taub, Nebosvod Gonzalez, spoke to The Los Angeles Times about his father - who he said was not really a Republican or a Democrat but he "believed in human rights, equality and justice."

He went on to say that his father was a very sad person, and that his great hope was that DePape would not have to suffer any more. "If you look into his eyes, there is so much sadness there," Gonzalez said, claiming that DePape had been horribly abused as a child.
