Drug Bust: Heroin | Eastern NC Now

    On May 1, 2013, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Samuel Bernard Wiggins, age 62, of 288 Gum St. in Belhaven, Vivian Joy Clark, age 32, of 103 Chesterfield Drive in Washington, Cecil Bradford Walker, age 32, of 103 Chesterfield Drive in Washington, Gay Silvia, age 55, of 608 W 14th Avenue in Greenville and James Edward Ross, age 62, of 1284 Swamp Rd. Pantego. Their arrests stemmed from a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Sergeant responding to a call dispatched by the Washington Police Department Communications Center in reference to a group of people using heroin in a vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Sergeant Michael Sheppard was in the area and located the vehicle. Investigators with the Drug Unit also responded to the scene. K-9 Elza was deployed on the vehicle and she indicated for the odor of narcotics. A search of the vehicle and its occupants revealed a quantity of heroin packaged in wax paper bindles, used syringes and other drug paraphernalia associated with the intravenous use of heroin.





    As a result the search the above described individuals were all arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Sylvia Gay received a $1,000 secured bond, Cecil Walker received a $5,000 secured bond, Samuel Wiggins received a $7,000 secured bond, and Vivian Clark and James Ross both received $10,000 secured bonds. At the time of the arrest James Ross was out on bond stemming from a Trafficking in Opiates arrest by the Sheriff’s Office in April of this year. At the time of arrest Vivian Clark was also out on bond stemming from a Felony Flee to Elude charge by the Sheriff’s Office in July 2012. All arrestees were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center.
