U.S. Announces New Nuclear Bomb For Arsenal | Eastern North Carolina Now

The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) announced a new modernized nuclear bomb that will increase the military's readiness to deter aggression and launch strategic attacks if needed.

The new bomb, designated the B61-13, will be a modernized version of the B61 nuclear gravity bomb and will be deliverable by modern aircraft to the target.

"Today's announcement is reflective of a changing security environment and growing threats from potential adversaries," said Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy John Plumb. "The United States has a responsibility to continue to assess and field the capabilities we need to credibly deter and, if necessary, respond to strategic attacks, and assure our allies."

"The B61-13 represents a reasonable step to manage the challenges of a highly dynamic security environment," said Plumb. "While it provides us with additional flexibility, production of the B61-13 will not increase the overall number of weapons in our nuclear stockpile."

The DOD said that the new bomb would include more features that enhance its safety, security, and accuracy.

The Federation of American Scientists notes though that the reason for the new bomb appears to be in-part a political push by the Biden administration to "get rid of the last megaton-yield weapon in the US arsenal: the B83-1."

The B83-1 is currently the most powerful weapon in the U.S. military stockpile with a yield of over 1 megaton, which is equivalent to 1 million tons of TNT.

"The B61-13 will have the same maximum yield as the B61-7 (360 kilotons), according to defense officials, a significant increase compared with the 50-kiloton B61-12 it is intended to supplement," the report said.

A 360 kiloton blast is 24 times more powerful than the atomic bomb that the U.S. dropped on Hiroshima, Japan - which had a 15 kiloton yield - in the final days of WWII.

Considering the deep morass of complete incompetence at the Federal level, in the executive branch of our self-governed People, unarguably the worst in modern times; if certain changes could be made by Impeachment of those most qualified: Who would be your best choice because of abject Corruption, incompetence, or both?

Nope. Was when he lost the election and told his advisers he had no plans to leave DC and would stay in power. Then planned and allowed the old white men to storm the capitol to hang the VP. The clowns in Georgia are rolling on Trump like Grant took Richmond.

Hitler was elected but started acting like a dictator by ruling by executive order, just like Biden has done. Trying to jail your political opponents is also the mark of a dictator.

Actually, the closest thing the United States has had to a dictator was Abraham Lincoln, who abolished habeas corpus, jailed elected Maryland state legislators without formal charges as political prisoners, forced a Congressional opponent, Congressman Clement Van Landingham, to flee the country, suppressed freedom of the press and speech, and otherwise goosestepped all over Constitutional freedoms. Of course, during that time, North Carolina's president was named Jefferson Davis, so none of those things happened in our state.

At least twice, I have heard Biden express how efficient authoritarianism is. He sounded like a man who yearned for the same power.

But dont all the power-hungry, at all levels yearn for that quick easy efficient way to get what they are pushing. Yes even at a small city govt level, that sort of power can be created, when those who are elected surrender their ability to make judgements, to the city manager. Authoritarianism shows itself. Everytime a council member says, "I dont know, I'll have to ask the city manager, we see it raise its ugly head.
I have seen things in Washington that reveal we too are a police state. It happens when no attorney will take a case that challenges the city govt and its police. If I'm wrong, tell me who takes cases like that?

John Steed: Vote in this brand new poll where Christopher Wray is now added, and placed at the bottom of this post. I knew Wray was an Empty Suit," but did not realize he was also corrupt. I thought that he was just grossly incompetent.

We came close with Trump. Very close.

Who is rapidly pushed us toward a police state is the Biden regime. They are remaking the FBI and DOJ as the KGB. Glenn Beck cited a media report yesterday that the FBI was pushing out its agents who were Trump supporters, Christians, or conservatives. Under Biden, it is becoming a political secret police. No wonder a recent poll found that a majority of Americans agreed with the statement that the FBI is becoming "Biden's personal Gestapo" What the Soviets called the "power ministries" are becoming a threat to our own freedom in our own country thanks to Biden.

To break your Leftist lexicon on the state of things: "Dictators" are NEVER elected in the Free and Fair Elections in a Representative Republic such as ours.

Even when elections are wholly flawed as in the General Election of 2020, there are processes whereby holders of federal office can be removed by the representative wishes of the people, so there have never been Dictators in the United States of America.

Above all else, Trump loves Trump. A dictator is not the answer.

Sell Mr. Trump short at your peril.

Whether one likes or respects the former president, history cries out that the man has instincts and the man gets results, tremendous qualities for a selfless politician whose one concern is to ever serve with distinction.

Trump wants peace and would have it done in 24 hours. We are waiting for the American people to want the same. Let this administration run it's self into the ground, we are paying attention.
