House Republicans Say Biden ‘Stonewalling’ Over ‘Loan Repayment’ Docs ‘Funded’ By Laundered Chinese Money

House Republicans investigating the Biden family for corruption said on Friday that President Joe Biden was "stonewalling" their request for documents related to alleged loans he provided to his brother James Biden.
The claims from the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability come after Rep. James Comer (R-KY) said bank records show that the president received $40,000 in laundered Chinese money. House Republicans have asked for more documentation on the loans, but say they have so far been refused.
"The White House today made clear to us that President Biden is refusing to hand over loan documents for any 'loans' he provided to his brother, James Biden," a statement posted to X by the Oversight committee said. "We've exposed nearly a quarter of a million of dollars that James Biden sent to Joe Biden as 'loan repayments' that were funded by laundered China money and influence peddling schemes."
"Is this what 'the most transparent administration in history' is supposed to look like?" the post added. "We won't be stopped by the President's stonewalling. We'll continue to follow the money, expose President Biden's corruption, and deliver accountability."
According to Comer, a $40,000 check written to Biden by his sister-in-law Sara originated from Northern International Capital, a Chinese company affiliated with Chinese conglomerate CEFC. Eventually, it made its way to James and Sara Biden after going through a series of Hunter Biden-linked entities. James and his wife, Sara, then sent Joe Biden a $40,000 check as a "loan repayment."
Comer and House Republicans have questioned the nature of the reported $40,000 check and another $200,000 check also referred to as a loan repayment.
Democrats have argued that the loans were just between James and Joe Biden, while Republicans have said that the money used to pay the president back originally came from China.
"It's certainly plausible that this payment where James and Sara used funds from China was indeed a loan repayment to Joe. But even if this $40,000 check was a loan repayment from James Biden, it still shows how Joe benefited from his family cashing in on his name - with money from China no less," Comer said this week.
Republicans have said that the legacy media has ignored the story, saying that there would be accountability.
"It's time for Corporate Media to wake up and report on one of the biggest scandals in U.S. history," the Oversight committee said Saturday. "President Biden and the Admin he promised would be the most transparent in history continue to stonewall us at every turn. There will be accountability."
