Patriots First Super-PAC Supporting Mark Robinson Names Key Advisors | Eastern NC Now

Jonathan Felts & Michael Luethy, Who Took Ted Budd from 40 Points Down to Victory in ‘22, To Lead the Effort

ENCNow
Press Release:

(Raleigh, NC)     Patriots First Super-PAC today announced Jonathan Felts and Michael Luethy as the top advisors leading the Independent Expenditure supporting Mark Robinson for Governor. Felts and Luethy served as senior advisors to Ted Budd's successful campaign for US Senate in 2022. Budd started that campaign more than 40 points down but won the primary by 34 points and was then the only battleground/purple state Republican US Senate nominee to win in November of 2022.

Budd's campaign was successful despite certain GOP consultants repeatedly assuring donors and reporters a Republican as conservative as Budd could not win a general election in North Carolina. They said Budd was "not serious" and "not a capable candidate" and was "unelectable in a General Election." And that Ted and his campaign team "aren't prepared to win a national battleground in a purple state." Alas the data-driven analysis of those consultants was proven to be wrong by the voters of North Carolina.

If this all sounds like déjà vu all over again, it should, because those same consultants are now propping up another weak candidate and making the same attacks on Mark Robinson. And they're wrong again. From fundraising to polling, the objective data indicates Mark Robinson started his campaign in a stronger position than any previous NC GOP gubernatorial candidate.

"The Republican primary will be decided by the NC GOP grassroots across the state," said Felts, "and these folks support Mark Robinson. Bill Graham's campaign, like Pat McCrory's senate campaign in 2022, is focused only on major donors and political insiders. Graham might humbly label his campaign as "the best team" ever assembled 🙄, but I would encourage donors to be dubious of any Graham-McCrory consultants who are claiming, once again, that a Conservative Republican can't win in North Carolina. A Conservative Republican won in 2022 and will win again in 2024. And there ain't any North Carolina voters clamoring for a Republican version of Personal Injury Lawyer John Edwards."
