Comer Zeros In On Biden Pseudonym Emails For Impeachment Inquiry | Eastern NC Now

    House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said on Tuesday a trio of fake names that he suspects were used as a disguise for surreptitious communications are a top priority in the impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden.

    Congressional investigators uncovered over the course of their corruption-focused probe at least three names - Robert Peters, Robin Ware, and JRB Ware - which they believe were used as pseudonyms for Biden in emails during the time he served as vice president from 2009 to 2017.

    "Right now, I think one of the most important amount of documentation that we need are those pseudonym emails," Comer said on Fox News, adding that "what we did not know until recently was that he was, in fact, using those pseudonym emails to communicate with not just his son, Hunter Biden, but also with his shady business associates."

    Comer requested in August that the National Archives provide pseudonym emails and other documents to Congress in unredacted form. By November, he was accusing the White House of "withholding" 82,000 pages of pseudonym emails - identified as part of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought by the conservative Southeastern Legal Foundation.

    During his Fox News appearance, Comer said the 14 pages of emails the White House allowed to be turned over "didn't even amount to half of 1 percent" of what he wants, but did give the Biden administration room to claim there was nothing incriminating about them.

    Comer said congressional investigators also "have questions" for the National Archives related to Biden's retention of classified documents while out of office, including "which countries" may have been involved.

    A criminal investigation led by special counsel Robert Hur is reportedly expected to result in a report criticizing Biden and his aides for their handling of the records, but no charges against the president.

    The GOP-led House voted this month along party lines to formally authorize the impeachment inquiry, a move that Republicans argued would give legal weight to their subpoenas to combat alleged stonewalling by the White House.


    Comer said congressional investigators still want to depose Biden family business associates and the chairman noted that he hopes the House will hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress "as soon as we get back" from the holiday break after the first son defied a subpoena for a deposition this month.

    Republicans "have subpoena power. We are using that subpoena power in a disciplined and transparent manner to try to get the truth to the American people about whether or not this president is compromised," Comer said.
