Commented on Council Member Joe Davis to Push for Property Tax Cut of More Than 50% at Monday’s MeetingVan Zant, you are right. The vote to raise taxes substantially was 3 to 1, with Joe Davis the only NO vote. There is lots of fluff in that tax increase budget, as there was in the last one. Perrault actually denied at last night's meeting that he had even run on the Tax Cut Team. I am sure that is news to voters who voted for him.

Commented on 6-8-26 City Council AgendaWhat a disgrace. Our city council is a three ring circus; you have Tyre always trying to channel Idi Amin, and Perrault constantly channeling Benedict Arnold. Tyre is part of that Sadler machine that sent the thugs to hang around outside and then inside Nick Fritz' restaurant to harass his customers and staff and then to go to his house to intimidate his children in a rotten scheme to force Fritz off the council. Perrault is the guy who ran on the Tax Cut Team, but then started palling around with tax-and-spend kingpin Tyre, and has now voted for a big TAX INCREASE. Perrault seems to be making himself into Tyre in whiteface.
Washingtonian, there is a term for politicians like Tyre, and that is Powerbully.

Commented on Council Member Joe Davis to Push for Property Tax Cut of More Than 50% at Monday’s MeetingWOW !!
We sure dodged a bullet when we didnt elect HATER and EXTREMIST Zach Settewongse who used the "F you" words during last night's city Council public comments segment, and ended it by directing tHe middle Finger at Davis. Zack obviously needs an intervention. He's out of control and scary.

Commented on 6-8-26 City Council AgendaWell That was fun Stan!
I sometimes wonder if the campaign promises of some of these folks on the City Council was: "I promise to show my ass at every City Council meeting if you elect me! Tyre sure did that tonight. He brought you back to try to bait you, then scold you, and then try to embarrass you in front of the audience. Instead, he showed everyone how much he likes getting down in the dirt like a bully, the type that came to Fritz house to bully him off the Town Council. Shame on these "unprofessional" professionals!! The other council member who appears to have promised to make a petty jerk out of himself at every city meeting was Perreault. Every time he points a finger at Davis, I hope for him to find himself with 50 pointing back at him. Maybe not this month, but soon!! I see stupid people everywhere. I saw your name spelled in comments sections: Deathers, and Deatherige, etc. Too funny!

Here's what they're REALLY saying:
"We're going after anyone who is critical of Israel, US Foreign Policy and the President. You shall not question anything unless we instruct you to do so." Look up the SHALOM Act that passed here in NC a couple of years ago....this is just one example

Commented on Washington, N.C., Deserves Better Than Thiswww.witn.com
Washington is so poorly maintained, a dead body can lay next to a busy roadway in a busy business district for so long that it turns into a skeleton. But any citizens that try to suggest changes for a better Govt are routinely ignored. Remember the City of Washington just wants your bank account and for u the taxpayers to just butt-out!

What is going on right now to rig the elections in California shows what an out of touch Democrat lackey that Thom Tillis is. Our elections are being corrupted and the SAVE America Act would help stop that process.

These lousy Obama judges, and Biden judges, care nothing about Americans or about the law, only about their own party's far left ideology and pandering to illegal aliens. We need a quick way to take them all out of office. Maybe they should all be indicted for treason?

Commented on Beaufort County Government’s Bad Budget DecisionsAny local government that puts all this severance pay nonsense in contracts with career bureaucrats is betraying their taxpayers. In state and federal government, policy level management serves at the pleasure of the policymakers, and that is the way local governments should operate. The golden parachute that the Sadler machine gave to their city manager flunky was a violation of state law, and it is an outrage that the current city government is not trying to claw that back for our taxpayers.

Commented on Beaufort County Government’s Bad Budget DecisionsAll I have to say is When you lie down w dogs, you get up w fleas. I'm ready to paint all these local govts w a broad guilty brush.
"Fired Onslow County manager sues county, claims commissioners broke state law." ONSLOW COUNTY,NC. (WITN)- "The fired Onslow County manager is suing the county, saying county commissioners often broke state law. David Smitherman was fired on Feb 16 by a unanimous vote, and commissioners refused to give him more than $900,000 in severance pay, saying he was fired for cause. The govt said Smitherman was fired because he wasn’t willing to perform his duties. "The former manager claims he never refused to carry out lawful duties, “but did object to actions or directives of the Board that violated NC law.” The suit says commissioners routinely attempted to use their govt for personal, business, or political gain. How despicable! What Tillis is doing is auditioning to the special interests to try to be their lobbyist when he leaves office. He is throwing the Republican Party and his protege Whatley under the bus to do it.

The problem with Todd Blanche, for RINO Tillis, is that Attorney Blanche is so very much smarter than Thom and he has character; two things that Thom has been shown to lack.

Just when I had about gotten to the point I could hold my nose for Whatley, a RINO who would be Tillis 2.0, the original Tillis is now making that much more difficult. Roy Cooper is terrible, and I wish we had a real alternative like Don Brown would have been.

Commented on Beaufort County Government’s Bad Budget DecisionsJohn, that is not the worst thing. They limited their search to career bureaucrats and shut out those with private sector management experience. Private sector managers strive for efficient cost-effective operations while career bureaucrats tend to be empire builders who care nothing about efficiency. They sought absolutely the wrong qualifications in a county manager, and , well, they found them.

From what I hear from local teachers, most of them ARE members of the NCAE teachers union, which is the state affiliate of the national NEA teachers union. Both are heavily involved in leftwing politics unrelated to education issues.
I have not heard if there is an organized local chapter of the NCAE teachers union beyond local teachers just being members of the state unit of the union. However, it was clear that teachers were heavily involved in the campaigns of two NCAE members for our Beaufort County School Board who won nominations in GOP primaries over conservative school board incumbents.

Would Beaufort County teachers support our females?
"Complaint Sparks US Dept of Education Title IX Investigation into NC School District WASHINGTON, DC – May 13, 2026, America First Legal (AFL) filed a formal complaint with the US Dept of Ed and the US Dept of Justice, alleging that policies enacted by Cabarrus County Schools (CCS) in Concord, NC, violate Title IX, FERPA, and the US Constitution. The Dept of Ed’s Office for CivilRights (OCR) announced that it launched an investigation in response to AFL’s complaint. AFL’s complaint exposed CCS’s policies permitting “gender expansive and transgender students” to access sex-segregated intimate facilities based on “gender identity” rather than biological sex. One female student attending Cox Mill High School raised concerns during a public school board meeting that a biological male student “identifying” as female participated on the girls’ football and basketball cheer teams and used the girls’ locker rooms & restrooms."
