Among North Carolina Republicans, only two stood with the American people on this bill, and they were Senator Ted Budd and Congressman Dan Bishop. Thom Tillis and Greg Murphy were among those who sold us out.

While I agree that we need to help Israel and Ukraine militarily, the failure to get border security added to this bill makes it a non-starter, and giving Biden money to settle migrants makes it absolutely repulisive. Tillis and Murphy are two traiotrs we need to replace.

I remember smog, decades ago when I visited California, but even then never saw it in NC. For the last few decades, they have not even had smog in California. I agree that if Bob is "choking on fossil fuel emissions", he must be in China or some other Third World country where it is still happening.

The mindless crusade of the climate cult is destroying the quality of life for citizens, and is also hurting the environment.

Walter Jones used to be great on immigration issues, but Greg Murphy not so much. Murphy does not really seem to care about it as an issue and is too quick to be a rubberstamp for some really questionable GOP "leadership".

120 years? You must be on your second bottle of Old Crow, Bobbie! Lets look at some real history instead of your fairy tales.

The War Between the States ended in 1865 and was followed by Reconstruction, during which northern troops occupying the South often disenfranchised southern whites who had fought for the Confederate states and politically promoted southern blacks. Northern troops were withdrawn in 1877, although Reconstruction impacts lingered for some additional years in some southern states. The gap between the end of Reconstruction and the advent of Jim Crow varied by state, so lets look at North Carolina. Black North Carolinians, who mostly voted Republican were active politically throughout the late 19th century, and participated heavily in the "fusion" campaign of 1894, in which a coalition of Republicans and Populists won control of the legislature. In 1896, the "fusion"coalition won the governorship and increased control of the legislature, and with the latter, also a US Senate seat. The successful fusion candidates included a black congressman and a dozen black legislators. It was that victory which led the Democrats to start plotting against the black population in order to regain power. In the 1898 election, the Democrats ran as strident white supremists and won back control of the legislature. The 1898 Wilmington massacre was part of the Democrat white supremacy campaign.

NC's first Jim Crow laws were enacted by the new Democrat majority legislature in 1899, but the most onerous ones came in with the 1901 legislative session.

The beginning of the end of Jim Crow came with court decisions in the 1950s, and the final stake was driven through its heart by Congressional Civil Rights bills in the mid 1960s. Not only did legislative Republicans vote unanimously against the NC Jim Crow bills of 1899 and 1901, but Republicans in Congress heavily supported the civil rights bills of the 1960s.

You are the Democrat, Bobbie, so it is you who should be "proud" of Jim Crow! It is your side that imposed it on North Carolina. So go enjoy your bottle of Old Crow. And learn the true history before making stupid statements that display your ignorance of history

Nope. More like 120 years of Jim Crow. Be proud man. You stuck it to em for about a century. Now it's time to move on.

Marxism / communism, rebranded as "woke", is the root cause of DEI.

Bobbie should lay off that bottle of Old Crow.

No, it didn't. Through a lot of environmental legislation, we have reduced air pollution greatly but the shear amount of fuel combusted cannot be mitigated.
Its true I'm not an economist but I do know:
You cant eat money
You cant drink money
You cant breath money.
The person with the most money does not win.
When you meet God and He askes you why you took a dump on His creation, to acquire more money may not be a sufficient answer.

Jim Crow, re-branded as MAGA is the root cause of DEI. I'm not obsessed with Jim Crow, but like you I benefitted from it and am grown up enough to admit it.

It is just common sense that a business like Sheetz would not want convicted criminals working for them. If the crime was some type of stealing, they would not want criminal employees stealing from them. If the crime was some type of assault or sexual assault, they would want to protect their customers and other employees from that behavior. If it was some type of dreug use, they would not want employees stoned on the job. The list could go on.

Bobbie may have just outted himself as an internet troll from China. The US eliminated smog from fossil fuels decades ago, but China has failed to do so to this day. So if Bobbie is "choking on fossil fuel emissions" he must be sitting in a troll factory in China.

Bobbie is also clearly economicly illiterate as he does not seem to understand the economic implications of the globalist climate policies.

You do the crime , you do the time. After paying your debt to society one ,would expect to be able to get a job. Not all jobs, but a job. Any thinking person knows society benefits if we, under the proper supervision, allow people a second chance.

What's the old Lone Star state de-facto motto: "Don't Mess With Texas!" Works for me.

In North Carolina, we have such a long period of early voting, absentee ballots, should truly be the exception. I kind of like the voting style in some other countries where you vote in person and get a stamp of indelible ink that sticks with you for a few days. Voting (for non-felon CITIZENS) is an honor, a privilege, and a right that should not be infringed BUT neither should it be taken lightly and circumvented. For those who cast illegal votes (and election officials who illegally skew the votes), I have no problem with bringing back the pillory in the public square.

I am not happy with Greg Murphy's role on this issue whatsoever, but I am more upset over his so often going along with Biden's overspending and continual borrowing. Walter Jones always stood strong for our taxpayers on those issues, but Murphy is a pathetic wimp. Murphy even supported Biden's new army of tax auditors to plague the middle class. Eastern NC Republicans can do a lot better than Greg Murphy. Yes, that Libertarian is worth a look.

Who is choking on Biden's climate cult crusade are American consumers and taxpayers. In driving emergy prices higher, Biden has fueled inflation because energy makes up part of the cost of everything sold. Biden's high deficit spending also fuels inflation, and much of that deficit spending has been related to the climate cult, which ought to be called Climate Scientology. His falsely named "Inflation Reeuction Act" was instead a "climate" bill that actually drove up inflation.

The "hate speech" mafia is also going after those who oppose illegal immigration. A French Senator is facing criminal "hate speech" charges for a social media post that "immigration kills" after a young French girl was brutally raped and murdered by an illegal alien "asylum seeker". Three members of the European parliament, from Italy, Belgium, and Romania are also facing "hate speech" complaints over remarks they made on the floor of the EU parliament. The Belgian MEP had quoted statistics from his own national government on the number of asylum seekers arrested for crimes. The Italian MEP had stated her feelings about "honor killings" among Islamic "asylum seekers", the victims of which are almost all women. To the far left, this is now called "hate speech" and they want to punish people for it.

Obama also worked to move the leadership of our military to the left, with a large number of generals and admirals retired early and replaced with more "woke" successors. Our military had never been politicized this way by other presidents. That set the stage to make it even more "woke" under Biden, so that now they are having problems with recruiting for their woke military. The military was another of what the Soviets called the "power ministries".

In his upcoming term, President Trump needs to de-wokify all of these institutions. Retire the woke generals and admirals and put traditional military leaders back in place. With the FBI, DOJ, etc. appoint solid people to all the positions open for presidential appointment and give them the mission to clean up their agencies. One tool in government to clear out senior career officials who are problematic is to reorganize the agency so that their positions are abolished and their duties assigned to someone else. That is easier to accomplish than outright firing. There should also be bi-partisan review boards created for these agencies to guard against politization in the future.

I agree that Greg Murphy has stabbed us in the back one too many times, and attacking our liberties is not foregivable. I don't know anything about that Libertarian, but Murphy has to GO.

DEI is a direct result of Marxist ideologue Herbert Marcuse's "Critical Theory" which calls for dividing society into as many warring camps as possible. DEI is the twin brother of CRT (Critical Race THeory) which is a direct descendant of Marcuse's Critical Theory. Marcuse was chief of ideology for the German Comunist Party in the Weimar Republic until he fled to the US in the 1930s and became a college professor here.

I like a lot of what I see in the rear view mirror, two excellent terms of office by Ronald Reagan and one excellent term so far from Donald Trump.

Your obsession with Jim Crow is irrelevant. The age groups that it applied to are no longer in the workforce and haven't been for a while. And you still refuse to call out the Democrats for enacting Jim Crow in the first place (Republicans unanimously voted against it).
Commented: Monday, April 22nd, 2024 @ 11:34 am By: Rino Hunter
RH - yes you're focused on looking ahead because you don't like what you see in the rear view mirror. DEI is a direct result of Jim Crow and MAGAs effort to rebrand the practice.

VZ thinks he invented reverse physiology in his effort to convince himself that his concerns are important but those of people of color should be ignored. Mr. Crow is alive and well in this one.

It should be noted that Congressman Greg Murphy is calling those of us with concerns about FISA 4th Amendment violations and overseas war funding - terrorists. In his mind defending our Bill of Rights and our sovereign border should not be used to protect us. He says we need to violate our Bill of Rights and defend overseas borders in order to keep us safe.

I hear Congressman Murphy was too busy over the weekend to face the homefolks at the 3rd District Convention. It is my understanding that Murphy has no Democrat opponent in the coming election. I know nothing about his Libertarian opponent, but he has my vote. He can't be worse than what we have now. Our present-day representative is a far cry from Walter Jones.

"Want a better response?" He's got to be kidding. He's giving the perfect responses to demonstrate what our students are being bombarded with in their racist DEI training in public institutions of higher learning, paid for by taxpayers. By all means don't stop! We couldn't ask for a better assistant to demonstrate the dishonest and disturbing Neo-Marxist indoctrination buzzwords and phrases used on our trusting young ones on campus DEI offices and departments.

I am more focused on current issues than ancient history, Little Bobbie. If I were in the legislature when it was passed back around 1900, I would have joined the entire GOP delegation which voted against it. You still fail to criticize YOUR Democrats for passing Jim Crow, Bobbie. It was YOUR side of the aisle that did it.
