What is the biggest challenge before us today? | Eastern NC Now

My friend Rem sent me a thought that I would like to share with you.

“Today, after sixteen thousand hours of K-12 indoctrination, our kids come out of government schools hating America. They roll their eyes at religion and disdain our history. We spend more money on education than ever, but many kids can barely read or write - let alone reason with discernment. Western culture is on the ropes. Kids are bored and aimless, flailing for purpose in a system that says racial and gender identity are everything.”

Pete Hegseth and David Goodwin summed up our predicament:

In 1955 my family sacrificed to send me to UNC at Chapel Hill.  I was the first male from our family to go to college.  My Dad was a self-made man who taught himself how to read but had a natural knack for numbers.  He was always active in local politics.

On my first visit home at the end of my first semester, I was ready to straighten him out and tell him how things really are.  He listened and then looked me straight in the eye and said, “Son, you are full of S…..t.”  

It set me back at first but when I went back to school I listened more intently and thought about the application and determined that he was right.  Many of my professors were full of S…t.  I spent the rest of my time there fighting with those professors, which did not improve my grades.

My point is that now when children come home with all of this BS from College, the parent has already bought these same failed philosophies and say,” Yea, Yea, son, that’s right”.  They reinforce the S..t my Dad was able to recognize.

If he/she is attending public school, they are getting the daily dose from teachers that were indoctrinated with a lot of the same S.  Fortunately some local teachers were the exception, some teachers that took my position were not blown off track but most of them are now retired.  True, some of the younger teachers know the Truth but I fear they are in the minority.

America became a great nation in large measure because of our education system.  But that has changed, and we are now reaping the whirlwind.  To save this nation we must return to the Truths taught in our schools before the Progressives took over. 

I am not naive enough to believe that saving this nation will be an easy task and I can even understand why some much smarter than I doubt that it can be saved.  But we must try.  

We The People own the public-school systems, including the University system which trains many of our teachers.  We have an inalienable right to insist on the education system teaching what should be taught.  It is incumbent on each of us to get involved and standup to “the System” and demand that it return to teaching traditional American values.  Before it is too late.
