Free speech is teetering on the brink in Europe as globalists try to crush it
"Hate speech" is an Orwellian "Newspeak" term used by totalitarians who hate FREE SPEECH, and its ugly head is popping up across Europe, pushed by globalist parties who want to supress free speech. Scotland's draconian new "hate speech" law pushed by the globalist left Scottish National Party has led to mass demonstrations against it. Novelist J. K. Rowling, of Harry Potter fame, says she intends to call a man claiming to be a woman what he really is, a man, and dare the government to arrest her.
Now British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has come out against Scotlant's "hate speech" law, saying people should not be criminalized for stating simple facts of biology. Novelist J. K. Rowling has now made social media posts pointing out that a number of named self-styled "trans-women" were actually men, daring the Scottish police state to arrest her.
In Ireland, the two traditional parties, Fianna Fail and Fine Gael, both historically center-right but now drifting leavily to the globalist left are pushing a similar "hate speech" law but seem to have hit a stumbling block when the other big party, the left of center Sinn Fein, the political arm of the IRA, has come out forcefully against both the "hate speech" law and the current ogvernment's open borders policies. Sinn Fein has found that working class voters are livid about both the hate speech laws and illegal immigration. Fine Gael and Fianna Fail are both seeing many of their local elected officials resign from the parties and become indepedents over these bills, and there are efforts underway to organize a new populist right party for the next national election, likely to be headed by an Irish sports hero.
Polands' new globalist prime minister is also going down this "hate speech" path, and it could cause his slim majority to unravel..

Deflecting is quite correct. These totalitarian police state laws are being seen in countries where the "n word" has not been in use. That is NOT what they are about. They are vague enough to cover lots of things the establishment does not want people talking about. In fact, it is their very vagueness that makes them so sinister. Some of these anti-democracy laws carry significant jail sentences and fines.
"hate speech" is only "real" to those who have a totalitarian mentality, like a certain troll on this board. |

Hate speech is real. Enough of us believe it to be so. Enough to make the use of the N word unacceptable. Should you go to jail for using it? No.
However if you use speech to terrorize people, well then maybe you should. |

This attempt to suppress free speech by calling it "hate speech" is also targeted at those who oppose illegal immigration. Opponents of open borders have already been targeted under these undemocratic laws in several European countries, including elected officials. Who ought to be jailed are the dictatorial politicians who pass these outrageous laws.
What is scary is that Democrats in America are already working on bringing this totalitarian concept to our shores. |

Indeed, there are now British womens lib groups livid over this law because their efforts to protect womens sports and womens spaces from biological men are being suppressed. When do we get to the next step outlined by Orwell in "1984" - the "thought crime"?

This totalitarians measure is a whole lot broader than that. Opposing illegal immigration or supporting Biblical views on homosexuality could send people to prison. So can callilng a man who dresses up as a woman a man.
While the n word is crude and offenseive, as are many other words, people should not go to prison for using them. Interestingly, the only people I have heard using the n word in years have been black folks talking about other black folks. Should they go to prison for it? |
