    Democrat strategist Julian Epstein said late this week that the political Left lost the 2024 election because they are too woke and they are condescending to others.

    Epstein made the remarks during a Friday interview on Fox News while discussing the course correction that he would like to see his party make.

    "We have spoken many times in the last year or two about what the Democrats are doing wrong. And Democrats in their postmortem are sort of talking about these things," he said. "They had the wrong candidate and their policies were wrong."

    He said Democrats needed to recruit "better candidates and they need to move back to the center on economic and cultural policies."

    "But my point has been that there is a deeper cultural problem with the Left and with the Democratic Party," he continued. "It's a party of wokeness and it's a party of moral condescension. So on, you know, your previous segment where you're talking about immigration, what the Left has done is they have said to people, 'If you disagree with us on open borders, then you're a bad person.'"

"And what that has done is it has caused the Left to shut its ears and to stop listening to people," he said. "And it's made it a lot dumber. It makes them feel good amongst themselves. It helps them achieve social status amongst fellow progressives."

John Steed: Rome Fell simply because they did not, or could not protect their borders; depended upon the enslaved for their freedom, and depended upon debauchery for their pagan religion of excesses to keep their population placated.

This somewhat reminds me of the immoral and ignorant core of the Democratic Socialists.

Maybe an about-face from the ideology of the Far Left is a perfect prescription to turn this Republic around.

From the course I took at the university level in ancient Roman history, Rome was first weakened internally by Emporers soaking the taxpayers for "bread and circuses" for the masses, which is equivalent to the welfare state in America set up by the Democrats. Once weakened internally, it was easy prey for the barbarian hordes that overran it. We are indeed seeing the Democrats today encourage those same conditions.

That would be a very narrow interpretation. Rome fell because it rotted from the inside. Emperors became Gods, and the corruption was of a magnitude we see today.
