Investigators gave chase and were able to catch Anderson and placed him under arrest. Other members of the Drug Unit conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle Anderson had met with and arrested the occupants to include Ricky Williams and Davonn Armstrong.

George Darrell Anderson
    On August 12, 2013, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested George Darrell Anderson, age 25, of 803 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, Davonn Nicole Armstrong, age 29, of 1200 Freeland Lane in Winterville and Ricky Lee Williams, age 24, also of 1200 Freeland Lane in Winterville. Investigators in the Drug Unit knew George Anderson to have active probation absconder arrest warrants and also received information that Anderson was involved in the sale and distribution of prescription pain medication. Investigators witnessed Anderson riding in a vehicle in Washington and conducted surveillance.

    Investigators witnessed Anderson meet with another vehicle near Bear Grass Rd. off of Hwy 17 N in Washington and conduct a drug transaction. Investigators maintained surveillance of the vehicle in which Anderson was riding as it travelled back to Washington. When the vehicle stopped Investigators approached Anderson and Anderson fled on foot near the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Simmons Street.

    Investigators gave chase and were able to catch Anderson and placed him under arrest. Other members of the Drug Unit conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle Anderson had met with and arrested the occupants to include Ricky Williams and Davonn Armstrong. As a result of the operation Investigators seized 30 dosage units of Oxycodone.

    George Anderson was charged with Level II Trafficking in Opiates, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resist, Delay Obstruct a Public Officer and was also served with several absconder warrants filed by the Department of Community Corrections. Anderson was confined under a $75,000 secured bond. Davonn Armstrong and Ricky Williams were both charged with two counts of Level II Trafficking in Opiates and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Armstrong and Williams were both confined under a $15,000 secured bond.

On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Beaufort County Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment against 24-year-old Brady O’Neil Daniels of Wallace, NC, charging him with the murder of Billy Joe Bell in 2023.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in a wooded area near Pamlico Plantation in Washington NC.
In the past month, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and K9 Division have arrested 10 people in the county on felony drug charges.
On December 12, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 27-year-old Nikkopenia Terra Echevarria of Washington, NC on multiple felony drug charges.
Beaufort County District Attorney Thomas D. Anglim disclosed that Ryan Austin Stalls was convicted of two counts attempted murder and one count of attempted first degree ex offense and first-degree kidnapping following a guilty plea in Beaufort County on December 9, 2025.
On December 22, 2025, Deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Aurora/Richlands area for a report of a foul odor coming from inside a rental property where a tenant had previously moved out.

On December 5, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 39-year-old, Arnold Gerard Whitney of Belhaven, NC on multiple drug and weapon charges.
On Tuesday December 9th, 2025, 33-year-old Ryan Austin Stalls pled guilty in Beaufort County Superior Court to the following charges:
Today I officially filed for re-election, seeking to continue my service to the citizens of Beaufort County.
On January 27, 2025 Washington Police Department officers and Washington Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the area of Bonner Street and E. Martin Luther King Jr. Street in reference to a report of a motor vehicle crash.
During the past month, members from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit, Patrol Division and K9 Unit have charged seven people in the county on felony drug charges.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office needs your help locating a wanted person. On October 27, 2025, 40-year-old Givon Montrell Hodges of Washington, NC left Superior Court in Beaufort County and failed to return.
