Woke curriculum - Alaska social studies omits Lincoln, Washington, Constitution | Eastern NC Now

The Republican minority on the NC Board of Education was very outraged and very vocal about the "woke" social studies curriculum promulgated a few years ago, but it is much worse in Alaska.  Even though Alaska is a Republican state, its new social studies curriculum is fully "woke" with very little real history, either national or state level.  Not only are the country's foundational documents like the Constitution and Declaration of Independence omitted, but so are Washington, Lincoln, and even Christianity.  Famous people from Alaska as well as key moments in state history are also given the boot.  What's left? Woke mush that seeks to divide society dominates.

Meanwhile, Randi Weingarten, president of the national teachers union, American Federation of Teachers, has put out a radical new book entitled "Why Fascists Fear Teachers" which depicts a number of famous civil rights leaders like black abolitionist Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington, and W.E.B. DuBois as "fascists".  She also trashes the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights because it affirms that "parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that is given to their children".  Teachers unions have little use for parents having a say in their children's education.
