Reba Blanche Tetterton Smith, age 95, a resident of Chocowinity, NC passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 28, 2025, at Bayview Nursing Home.

    Reba Blanche Tetterton Smith, age 95, a resident of Chocowinity, NC passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 28, 2025, at Bayview Nursing Home.

    A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday November 5, 2025, in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, officiated by Reverend Jan Dykshoorn. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include Ricky Carrow, Tony Carrow, Paul Carrow, Richard Manning, Tom Grubb, and Dennis Woolard.

    The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    Mrs. Reba was born in Washington on August 17,1930 to the late Melvin Tilton Tetterton and Leta Blanche Waters Tetterton. She graduated from Washington High School and worked as a bookkeeper for the Bank of Washington and Bragaw Insurance Company. She later became a remedial reading teacher for Chocowinity Primary School. Mrs. Reba enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family, helping with Girl Scouts and being a farmer's wife. Reba was a long-time member of Wayside Presbyterian Church in Chocowinity, where she participated in many activities including singing in the choir, Women of the Church and teaching Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Reba had a heart for cats and raised many kittens.

    On October 7, 1950, Reba married Otha Earl Smith, who preceded her in death on Dec 20, 2005. Reba is survived by her three daughters, Kimberly Smith Ball (Dennis) of New Bern, Wendy Smith Ingalls (Derrick) of Washington, Tracey Smith Robinson (Harold) of Washington; four grandchildren, Patrick Ball (Erynn) of New Bern, Trent Ball (Jessica) of Charlotte, Justin Ingalls (Jessica) of Washington, Paige I. Brown (Cody) of Fuquay Varina and six great grandchildren, Elia, Lincoln, Josie, Matthew, Lakota, and Austin; two sisters, Melba T. Carrow of Chocowinity, and Linda T Carawan of Wilmington, sister-in-law Shirley Greenway of Macon, Georgia; and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Reba was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine T. Little.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wayside Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 14, Chocowinity, NC 27817 OR to Beare Garden Animal Rescue, 1164 US Hwy 258 N, Snow Hill, NC 28580.
