    Publisher's note: Within this group of posts, we have archived herein is the filing for the election of the governmental leaders of we, the self-governed, who put these people in power. Within this group of governmental leaders, listed in chronological order of their filing, we exhibit those who will serve locally in Beaufort County, those who will represent us in Raleigh, and those who will represent us in Washington, DC.

    Good evening.

    We had 2 candidates file today. Stan Deatherage for County Commissioner and Scott Hammonds for Sheriff.

    If you no longer wish to receive election related email from our office, please let me know and I will remove you from the list. And, if you know of anyone who was not receiving our 2025 emails but would like to be added to the 2026 list, please let me know.

    In addition to the county list, I also attached a STATE list that will include candidates who are state or district wide. It will be updated and sent out each day. I will send an email even if no one files to be as clear as we can. Filing continues until noon on Friday, December 19th.
